Botox® Effects
Botox® injections are recognised as one of the safest cosmetic treatments. Side-effects are rarely serious and always temporary. This trusted procedure has been researched in laboratories for decades as more people become interested in the Botox® effects.
Botox® effects include the smoothening out of:
- Vertical lines between the brows (frown lines)
- Crow’s feet
- Squint lines
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Lines on the bridge of the nose
- Downturned corners of the mouth
- Chin puckering
It is advised to always undergo the procedure at the hands of a medical practitioner who is qualified to administer Botox® injections. Botox® effects last up to four months initially, but each case is different. A two week reassessment is always good to assess the effect and consider a top up if necessary in certain areas.
While a youthful appearance is the ultimate goal with these treatments, like any other treatment there are possible Botox® side-effects associated with these injections. They include bruising – the most common side effect. Other side effects are an allergic reaction, swelling and numbness of the injected area.
Although most people all over the world undergo this treatment for cosmetic reasons, it has been discovered that Botox® effects include the successful treatment of hyperhidrosis, an excessive sweat syndrome. This is a syndrome that is usually treated with prescription antiperspirants, but these are only mildly effective, unlike Botox.
Recently doctors have discovered a new Botox® benefit. Patients with oversized masseter muscles, the muscles of the jaw used for chewing, can be treated with Botox® injections. Many patients with square shaped faces want a non-surgical option to give them the oval face shape they desire. Another positive Botox® effect.
Other additional Botox® effects with regards to jaw contouring, include:
- The procedure is non-invasive.
- A Botox® treatment can quickly be performed in your doctor’s office.
- There is virtually no recovery time necessary.
